What is home organizing?

Home organizing is the process of decluttering, purging, sorting, and storing a client’s items in a personalized, systematic, and easy-to-use way. It creates a home that works for the client, and not one the makes the client work harder. Clients enjoy their home more, and that’s important.

What are some benefits of having a well-organized home?

A few of the benefits our clients have found are:

Clients have more energy. Having everything in order makes life easier, which brings renewed energy to do other things with their valuable time.

Clients have more money. No more wasting money on things that can’t be found because of the clutter and disorganization. Clients can also make money by selling unwanted items and not buying excess, unnecessary items.

Clients have a functional home to come home to. No more worrying about what’s next on the to-do list. Everything has a home and it’s all in a place that makes sense and is easy to maintain.

Clients feels more empowered. Having a clean and organized space gives clients power over the clutter and disorganization. Clients manage their homes; their homes don’t manage them.

Clients feel good and less stressed. A feeling of wellness and ease is felt knowing their home is in order, and that makes clients feel good.

What happens during an organizing session, and how involved do I have to be?

Initially, we work closely with our clients to develop a rapport and understanding of how best to serve them. This often means working more closely in the beginning to help clients decide what to keep, discard, and donate. To do this, we listen intently and ask questions, then, once the “keep” items are decided upon, we help the client find the storage options and overall “flow” for their space. Putting everything in its place is mostly the professional organizers job, and clients can choose to assist with this step or not.

Remember, each client has different needs, therefore no two spaces will be the same, but every one of our clients will receive a personalized plan to maintain their new space(s) for the long term.

How long will it take to complete my home organization project?

We do our best to provide an accurate estimate of the total number of hours needed at the in-home assessment. Many factors can affect the time frame of a project, so clear communication with the client is imperative. If additional time is needed beyond what was estimated, the client will be made aware of this as soon as possible.

What happens to the items I want to donate or sell?

We will take up to two (2) medium sized bags/boxes to a donation center at the end of each session. Additional donations will be the client’s responsibility. As a courtesy, we have provided links to donation options on our Resources page.
